The Basics of Roullete

Roullete

Roullete, also known as Roulette, is one of the most popular gambling games at online casinos and land based casino sites. The game involves a small ball being released into the spinning wheel and then players make bets on which red or black numbered compartment of the wheel the ball will come to rest in. All of the bets are placed on a special roulette table and the table is marked to correspond with the compartments on the wheel. If the player wins the bet they receive their payout according to the odds of winning.

A typical roulette wheel has divisions numbered 1 through 36, alternately coloured red and black. There is also a green division labelled zero and this is what makes the American version of the game much less fair than the European version.

Prior to the wheel being spun, players place their bets by laying down chips on a betting mat, with precise placement of the chips indicating which bet they are making. The bets on six numbers or less are called Inside bets while the bets on larger groups of numbers (first, second and third dozen, or red-black) are referred to as Outside bets.

Roulette is a simple game to play and if the player places their bets correctly they can have an edge over the house. However, it is important to note that a successful strategy does not guarantee a win and the player can still lose. This is why it is a good idea to understand the game’s rules and basic bet types before playing. In addition, the player should be aware of the various advantages and disadvantages to each type of bet.
